Simcha (Shamach), Ovadia

Son of Mansour and Miriam. He was born in Yemen in 1941. He immigrated to Israel with his family in 1949. He studied at Yeshivat Chabad and later at the Oved School in Moshav Bareket. He was responsible for organizing the youth at the local club and also for arranging dramatic activities. In January 1962, he was drafted into the IDF, and on the first of Elul 5723 (20.8.1963) he fell in the line of duty and was brought to rest in the civilian cemetery in Moshav Bareket. In his memory, the moshav established a library of reading books and Torah books.
