Siman Tov, Meir
Meir, son of Malka and Israel Siman Tov, was born in 1929 in Baghdad, the capital of Iraq. As a boy he joined the Haganah and participated in its activities. When the War of Independence broke out, he came to full service and fought in the ranks of the Jerusalem Brigade. He was among the defenders of Ramat Rachel, where he fell on the 13th of Cheshvan 5709 (November 15, 1948). He was buried in Sheik-Bader Bet. On the 17th of Sivan 5761 (21.6.1951) he was put to rest at the military cemetery on Mount Herzl in Jerusalem.
