Siman-Tov, Mashiach


Mashiach, son of Amalia and Eliyahu Siman-Tov, was born in the city of Tiflis, the capital of Georgia, Russia on the 11th ofTevet, January 2, 1920. When he was 12 he immigrated to Israel with his family and immediately began to work and completed his education in evening classes. Mashiach was an active member in the underground, which he joined in the outbreak of the bloody riots of 1936-1939. and served in the British Corps during the Second World War. When he was liberated in March 1945, he devoted himself to active service in the Irgun and participated in various activities against the British. He participated in Etzel battles in Jaffa and Judea. In June 1948, he was drafted into the IDF, and was posted to the Givati ​​Brigade and was a member of the Shimshon Foxes. Mashiach was injured in the head when he cut a barbed wire fence in order to remove a wounded person from the other side, and fell on the 16th of Tishrai, 19.10.1948. He was laid to rest in the military cemetery in Kfar Varburg.
