Silberstein, Ronen (Yaakov)
Ben Pnina and Sami. He was born on the 27th of Adar 5770 (27.2.1970) in Ramat Gan. He completed his elementary studies at Hashmonaim and completed his high school studies at the Ohel Shem High School in Ramat Gan. He had a black belt in Karate, practiced lifting weights, loved music, nature and animals. He dedicated his spare time to the Maccabi Ramat Gan team. Ronen was a good friend of his friends, loved entertainment, and especially freedom. Ronen was drafted into the army in mid-November 1987 and assigned to the General Staff. After basic training he was sent to his unit as a driver. On June 17, 1990, Ronen fell while serving. He was laid to rest in the military cemetery in Kiryat Shaul. Survived by his parents and two brothers – Gil and Daniel. In a letter of condolence to the family, his commander wrote: “During his service in my unit he fulfilled his duties to the satisfaction of his superiors, and was admired by his comrades.”
