Silberstein, Chaim-Mordechai


Chaim-Mordechai, son of Bracha and Shraga-Feivish Silberstein, was born in June 1929 in the city of Iasi, Romania. He immigrated to Israel after the liberation of European countries from the German yoke, on August 12, 1946, as part of the Youth Aliyah. He received his primary education in Israel. He was a member of the youth movement in Ein Harod and was trained in the Palmach, and during the War of Independence he participated in battles in Jenin, Jerusalem and its surroundings and Latrun. Chaim-Mordechai fell on the 10th of Tammuz 5707 (17.7.1948). On the 11th of Adar 5702 (28.2.1950) he was laid to rest in the military cemetery on Mount Herzl in Jerusalem.
