He planned to go to Amsterdam and then study interior design at the Bezalel Academy of Art and Design, but all his plans were cut off on a rainy winter morning on his way to carry out the process of liberation. Effi was killed while carrying out his duties on December 18, 2002 in a car accident at the Nahalal junction, when he drove the family car towards the base. He was twenty-two years old when he fell. He was laid to rest in the military section of the Kiryat Ata cemetery. Survived by a father, stepmother and two sisters – Deborah and Iris.
