Shwartzman, Zvi (Zvika)


Ben Roza and Akiva. Zvi was born in Uruguay on February 26, 1961. At the age of four, he immigrated with his family to Israel, where they settled in Kibbutz Ein Hacarmel, and two years later moved to Bat Yam. He did his regular service in the Border Police. At twenty-three, Zvi married Ilana. Zvi and Ilana had two daughters: Hanit and Avigail. His family describes Zvi as a devoted family man who did everything he could for the welfare of his family. Upon his discharge from the army, Zvi was recruited to the Israel Police. He served in several positions, and in his last position served as a transport symbol. Staff Sergeant Zvi fell during his service on the 23rd of Adar 2, 5739 (March 30, 1989). He was twenty-eight when he fell. He was buried in the military section of the Kiryat Yam cemetery. He left a wife and two daughters.
