Shulman, Yochai (Chrysanthemum)
Son of Ella and Abraham. Born on 26.5.1972 in Kibbutz Kfar Ruppin, where he grew up and was educated. He spent his early years at the Dekelim Elementary School in Hamadiya and continued his studies at the Neve Eitan Regional School. A sturdy, handsome guy, full of ambition. Long hair, short-tempered, and unusual, storm bursting and occupied with adult responsibility, breaking frames, and builds others under them. This is what the family says. My friend was Yochai. Yochai dared to do things that others wanted and did not dare. He could communicate with everyone with humor and joking. He was a diving enthusiast and was proud of the motorcycle he was about to finish. At the beginning of March 1991, he was drafted into the IDF, underwent basic training and was assigned to an anti-aircraft unit in the air force. After a while he asked to be an ambulance driver, was sent to an ambulance driver course, and returned to his new job at the clinic. On 21.6.1992 he fell during his service. Yochai was killed in a road accident not far from his home in Kfar Ruppin. He was laid to rest in the military section of the cemetery at Kibbutz Kfar Ruppin. Survived by his parents and three sisters. His parents published a pamphlet in his memory, which included the words of friends about his character. In a letter of condolence to the bereaved family, the unit commander wrote: “During his year of service in our unit, we met him and his special personality, an excellent soldier, responsible and dedicated, and the first to every mission … Yohai was loved and accepted …”
