Shulman, Menachem


Son of David and Bella. He was born on May 1, 1953 in Jerusalem. He studied at the Henrietta Szold elementary school in Tel Aviv and continued his studies at the Ironi Hey High School in Tel Aviv, where Menachem was accepted by the students and tried to help his friends, from a young age he accepted the challenges of physical exertion. And tried not to miss the many opportunities he had to take part in the Jerusalem marches. Menahem was interested in the art of photography and devoted his hobby to it for many hours of his free time. He was a loyal son and devoted to his parents and showed a special affection for his sister, who was two years younger than him – Dina. Menachem was drafted into the IDF in August 1971. After completing basic training and after completing a parachuting course and other professional courses, he was sent to a Paratroopers Brigade where he served for a long period of time and fought in the Yom Kippur War on the Chinese ranch, During the War of Attrition, Menahem used many of his holidays to visit his wounded comrades, who were hospitalized in various hospitals and in the course of the War of Attrition, In Israel, and to console the families who lost their sons – his friends In April 1974, Menahem and his comrades were transferred to the north of the country and took part in the battles on Mount Hermon, and on May 27, 1974 Menachem fell in battle on Mount Hermon. He was laid to rest in the military cemetery in Kiryat Shaul. Survived by his parents and sister. After his death he was promoted to First Sergeant.
