Shukron, Albert (Abraham)
Son of Shlomo and Simchah. Was born on the 6th of Tishrei 5669 (October 6, 1938) in his book Asher in Morocco. He graduated from the Alliance in his hometown. From an early age he discovered a yearning to immigrate to Israel. While we were studying in the Talmud Torah, two great events took place in the life of our people. The state was established and the War of Independence took place – and these events fueled his aspiration to immigrate. In the meantime, he had taken a wife, but not only that he had to provide for his family, but also had to help his parents. Finally, in July 1963, he succeeded in realizing his ambition: he, his wife, and his two children arrived in Jerusalem and were housed near Kiryat Hayovel in the Asbestos neighborhood. Shortly thereafter, his parents immigrated and he was forced to come to their aid. In Jerusalem, he had two more children and the family lived very hard. Since Albert could not find a better apartment than that in the neighborhood near Kiryat Hayovel and could not open his own hairdresser, he was forced to turn to the Employment Service. For two and a half years he was employed there as a daily wage worker, and apart from this work he found additional and partial work. He refrained from appealing to foreign institutions and did not need their favors, worked hard to earn a living, and yet he was always Simcha with him. He was drafted into a regular army service and was assigned to reserve duty and was stationed in one of the battalions of the Jerusalem Brigade in the days of tension before the Six-Day War and was trained to prepare for the defense of the capital. The second of the battles, on the 27th of Iyar 5727 (June 6, 1967), fell in a battle that took place there, leaving a wife and four children, the youngest of whom was one and a half years old, and was brought to rest in the military cemetery on Mount Herzl in Jerusalem. The book “Nizkor”, published by the Hebrew University of Jerusalem and the Student Union, edited by Yehuda the Civil, brought his history and a battle Last.
