Shturman, Moshe
Moshe, son of Atara and Chaim Shturman, was born in 1921 in Safed. After completing school, he became a member of the Haganah and was active in all his activities and in guarding. He was one of the first volunteers and activists in the naval training program, and was one of the organizers of the illegal immigration to the northern borders. With the outbreak of the War of Independence, he enlisted in full service and participated as a lieutenant colonel and then commander of the many combat operations of his unit in the Golani Brigade. Moshe participated in the conquest of Beit Shean, in the battles on the Gilboa, from Norris to Zar’in and the outskirts of Jenin and the conquest of Nazareth, and fell on the 25th of Tammuz (1.8.1948), not far from where his father fell. He was laid to rest in the cemetery in Ein Harod. After his fall, he was promoted to lieutenant.
