Shturman, Dov

Son of Miriam and Ze’ev. He was born in 1916 in Bereshkov, Ukraine. He was orphaned of his father at the age of two and in 1926 immigrated with his mother to Eretz Israel. In Israel they joined Kibbutz Ein Harod. Here Dov was educated in elementary school and stood out among his friends with his special passion for poetry. In 1935, he joined the police and served in Sharona and Petach Tikva. On the 9th of Shvat (February 2, 1936), he was killed in the performance of his duties in Petach Tikvah by a bullet by an Arab policeman. He was brought to rest in the Ein Harod cemetery.
