Shtroll, Yisroel
Yisroel ben Shlomo and Esther was born on the 10th of Teves, October 23, 1925, in Orshetia, Romania, of a religious family. During the Second World War he was in a labor camp, managed to escape from there, and in 1944 he immigrated to Israel as part of the youth movement, where he settled in Tel Aviv with a group of immigrant youth. At the beginning of April 1948, he was drafted into the IDF. During the War of Independence he was part of the Hanita group, and in one of the battles he was wounded. Yisroel remained in this position until 1956. During those years he married Shoshana and the couple had a daughter and a son. He volunteered for a career in the IDF and was promoted to the rank of Major.Yisroel was loved by all the members of the unit. On the 18th of Elul, September 19, 1978, Yisroel fell in service, and was brought to rest in the cemetery in Holon He left behind a wife, a daughter and a son.
