Ben Ziva and Zion. David was born in Rishon Le Zion on the 26th of Shvat 5749 (26.1.1989), the eldest brother of Shir and Guy. David studied at the Jerusalem Comprehensive High School, specializing in computers. David’s family members say that he was a special boy with outstanding virtues that everyone should learn and apply. David was happy and smiling, loved life, gave his fortune and himself to others, was attentive and always advised good advice. He loved and loved people, loved peace and pursued peace, was a caring leader, alert and prepared for any mission, and everything was done modestly. David was an example to his brothers and acquaintances and friends in his pleasant manner, values ​​and breadth. David was very fond of sports and played basketball as a coordinator for years, from a group of children to the boys’ team of Elizur and Maccabi Rishon LeZion. At the age of sixteen, he was trained by the Association of Basketball Judges and was authorized to be a full-time judge. He played a major role in judging basketball games in the Central District. The judges coordinator and international judge Omer Esteron envisioned a future and rapid advancement in the top echelons of the judiciary. David enlisted in the IDF on August 1, 2007. After many tests on the pilots and patrols, he decided to volunteer for the Border Police, where he served as a combat soldier for eleven months, during which he engaged in operational activity in Old Jerusalem as a fighter in Company C. David loved his service As a fighter, his friends and commanders for the unit, and especially the operational activity in the holy city of Jerusalem, and David’s family was proud of him for his activities and service.Two week before his departure for the commanders’ course, The Lions. David fought for his life for twelve days at Hadassah Hospital, but passed away on July 23, 2008. Sergeant Shani David fell in combat and died at the age of 19. He was buried in the military cemetery in Rishon LeZion .
