Shpigler, Yerachmiel (“Relo”)


Son of Sarah and Mendel. He was born on June 30, 1958 in Romania. When he was three years old, he immigrated to Israel with his family, who settled in the streets. He attended elementary school at Yavne’eli Elementary School in Rehovot and received high school education at the Netzer Sereni High School in Rehovot. At the end of his high school studies and before he enlisted, he worked in an assembly plant as an aluminum worker. In late September 1976 he was drafted into the IDF and served as an artillery officer in the Armored Corps. According to his friends, he was a smart guy, responsible and resourceful, who adapted to every situation. In May 1979 he completed his military service. “Relo” married Eliza and in the years they established their home in Rehovot. He began his work as a worker in a factory for assembling shutters, first as a manager of a factory. “Relo” was characterized by kindness and a desire to help others. He helped many of his neighbors find jobs during periods of severe unemployment. On the 17th of Tishrei 5744 (October 17, 1987), “Relo” fell while carrying out his duties. He was laid to rest in the military cemetery in Rehovot. He left behind a wife and a six-month-old daughter – Yafit, parents and two brothers – Haim and Moshe.
