Shoshani, Eliyahu

Shoshani, Eliyahu

Son of Meir. Born in 1910 in Haifa, his father worked as a farmer in Haifa and had good relations with Arab farmers, and his father died at the age of 8. He studied at Alliance, and later at the Reali School. He was an active member of the “Maccabi” branch where he served as a guide and liked the youth. Eliahu was proud of the Sephardic community to which he belonged and was particularly interested in the time of Maimonides and Ibn Ezra, and since 1933 worked as a work manager at the Haifa Public Works Department and specialized in building building. He excelled in his ability to work and was friendly with the Arab workers. He was also a member of the Hagana organization. When there was tension in the city, his mother asked him not to go to work. Eliahu did not give up and on the 12th of Tammuz 5638 (July 11, 1938), when he went to work in the Hadar Hacarmel service car, a bomb was thrown on the car and Eliyahu was killed. Suppose if. A list in his memory was published in the newspaper “Davar” in the section “In memory of the missing”
