Shoshani, Elisha


Son of-Eliezer and Shamsey. He was born in Elul in September 1940 in the city of Madan in Persia, two years old when his mother died and his sister took care of him, and after three years he died from his father and lived in his grandmother’s house for three and a half years. 1949, and they arrived in Israel at the end of the War of Independence in the framework of the Youth Aliya, and after two months in which they lived in immigrant camps, they were accepted to the “Onim” institution, where Elisha was transferred to the “Talpiot” institution. He was alone in the country and had no relative but his brother, but in 1950 and 1951 his two sisters immigrated, and this made it much easier for him.Two years passed and Elisha completed his elementary studies and moved He studied at the Nehalim yeshiva, where he spent two years, and then moved to live with his older sister. He worked in electrician-building and then in painting, it was the profession in which he continued until his last day. He was drafted into the IDF in May 1958 and served in the Nahal unit. In this unit, he demonstrated vigor and initiative, and after a while he was declared an outstanding soldier in his battalion and received a letter of appreciation from then-President Yitzhak son of-Zvi, and after his release from duty he turned to the building of his private life. He was called up for reserve duty from time to time, and in this service he underwent a unitary training course, and even before the Six-Day War called to reserve duty and on the fourth day to the battles (June 8, 1967), fell in a battle at the outskirts of Rafah, trying to rescue a jeep that had overtaken Mo Who had been buried in the emergency military cemetery in Bari and later taken to a permanent rest in the military cemetery on Mount Herzl in Jerusalem, his memory was raised in “Yesodot”, the organ of the workers’ union.
