Shoshana, Yosef


Yosef, son of Esther and Shalom Shoshana, was born in Jerusalem on April 11, 1929. After completing his studies in the Mizrachi Talmud Torah he studied printing and worked in it, and in 1945 joined the Irgun underground. During his years of service he excelled in his courage and ability to perform many actions against the mandatory government and later in the War of Independence. Among other things, he participated in the occupation of Deir Yassin, in the battles for the police school in Sheikh Jarrah and more. On the first day of Sivan 5708 (June 8, 1948) he left for action from the Irgun base in Jerusalem and never returned. He was buried in Sheikh Bader Aleph. On the 28th of Elul 5710 (10.9.1950) he was put to rest at the military cemetery on Mount Herzl in Jerusalem.
