Shoshan, Mordechai

Son of Masudi and Shlomo. Mordechai was born in Kiryat Malachi on December 18, 1955. He served at the Tel Nof Air Force Base. Mordechai joined the Israel Police in 1977 and served in the tour office at the Ofakim station. Mordechai’s family says that he was a unique person. He left a mark wherever he was. “There was joy in life and love for others, which only a few of us have, Moti was a whole world.” Mordechai’s last period was very busy. He seemed to be trying to squeeze the whole world into his hands. He ran from place to place, changed plans in a flash, and was restless. Then everything was cut off. On the 1st of Tevet 5708 (10.1.1980) Mordechai was on his way to a police event. Near Moshav Shukda there was a fatal car accident that led to the death and sinking of such a tall cypress. Second Sergeant Mordechai fell in the line of duty. He was twenty-five when he fell. He was laid to rest at the military cemetery in Ofakim. Survived by a daughter, sisters and brothers.
