Shorer, Moshe (“Moshka”)


Son of Yochanan and Sarah; The father of a well-to-do family and the mother of a prominent family of Torah scholars and Hassidim. He was born on March 6, 1924, in Badjurin, Podolia region in the Ukraine, and as a child his parents took him to Eretz Israel and later joined Rishpon, where he studied in an elementary school and later in Herzliya, And then he was 16 years old, so that he would not be able to discover his true age, and after a period of service and training, his turbulent spirit could not bear the complacency of training and work in the farms. He enlisted in the British Army, where he served in the transport corps and afterwards in the Engineering Corps. Egypt and the Western Desert, and later in Iraq and Persia After his discharge from the British Army, he joined the Hagana operations of that period, and returned to the Palmach in 1947 From south to south. Participated as an armored driver in maintaining the water lines to the Negev and accompanying convoys, and even joined the “Negev Animals” that protected the Negev during the War of Independence. At the end of the war he returned to his parents’ home (members of Moshav Rishpon), invested himself in the moshav and prepared to build his home. He was a member of a cooperative of veterans of the manufacture of building materials. On the 8th of Sivan, 5712 (12.6.1951) he fell during his reserve duty as commander of a reconnaissance unit and was brought to eternal rest at the Rishpon cemetery
