Shonshall, Baruch


Son of Mazal Tov and Raphael was born on April 12, 1929, in the city of Izmir, Turkey, at the very age of his father and mother, and fought hard for his existence. After training he joined the Hagoshrim group in Pardes Hannah, joined the Haganah, joined the Haganah and participated in underground activities against the British. At the outbreak of the War of Independence he was among the first soldiers of the Alexandroni Brigade. He told one of his friends: “What do I attribute to others? Why did they go out to the front and I remain in the rear?” He was awarded the rank of Terach and participated with his unit in the conquest of Ein Shemer, Karkur, Kakun, in the first and largest attack on Latrun and Operation Danny, and fell on the 12th of Tammuz 5708 (July 12, 1948) in Migdal Tzedek. He was laid to rest in the military cemetery in Netanya.
