Sholev, Avishay-Yaakov

Avishai, son of Miriam and Ephraim, was born on 28 August 1954 in Kibbutz Yavne. He graduated from elementary and high school in Kvutzat Yavneh, and was a good student. He was naturally quiet and never wanted to stand out, and he seemed to be looking for his way in life with some hesitation. Among his friends he was free and cheerful and took part in various activities with them, in gymnastics, in pranks, in pranks and in sports. From his youth he was a member of the Bnei Akiva movement and of the “Elitzur” sports association. Thanks to his achievements, he joined the Yavneh volleyball team and was also named as an excellent swimmer. Avishai was gifted with writing skills and composed a number of successful humor, with great humor and good taste. But all this he did in his corner hidden from people’s eyes. Avishai loved everything related to agriculture, and in the farm he worked in various industries, especially in citrus citrus. He also worked in the House of Trust of the hen house. He was a handsome young man, tall in rank, kind and smiling, but most of all modest and quiet. Avishay was drafted into the Israel Defense Forces in late October 1972, and was assigned to the Armored Corps. When the war broke out he was with his unit in Sinai, and participated in the battle in the central sector, among the defenders of the stronghold “TV”. On Yom Kippur, 10 Tishrei 5734 (October 6, 1973), he was killed and fell in battle and was brought to eternal rest in the cemetery in Kvutzat Yavneh, leaving behind his parents, sister and two brothers.
