Shlomovitch, Avraham


Avraham, son of Yaakov and Rachel Shlomovitch, was born on December 20, 1932 in the city of Baku, Romania. He attended elementary school and at the outbreak of World War II, was deported with his family to the Ukrainian camps, where his father perished by the Nazis. Even when Avraham was a boy, he aspired to come to Israel and he finally arrived in Palestine in 1947. He was drafted into the IDF and fell in the Jordan River near the Sea of ​​Galilee. On the 30th of Nisan, May 6, 1951, he was buried in the military cemetery in Afula and on the 9th of Tevet, January 7, 1952, he was transferred to the military section of the cemetery in Rehovot.
