Shlomi, Aharon
Son of Leah and Joseph-Baruch, was born on October 27, 1897 in Radomysl, Galicia. Studied in cheder and then yeshiva. He immigrated to Israel on November 22, 1920, and at the time of his aliyah devoted himself to agriculture. He was one of the founders of Kibbutz Mizra and his prominent friends. He was elected to several kibbutz institutions and fulfilled his duties with dedication. He also served as a mukhtar and as such had ties with the Mandatory authorities. In addition, he cultivated for a long time ties with the Arab communities in the area: spoke their language, knew their customs and was respected. During the Second World War he volunteered for the British Army and served in the Jewish Brigade. Throughout his years he was active in the Haganah in his kibbutz and throughout the region.
