Son of Moshe and Shula. Born in Tel Aviv on August 8, 1958, he studied at the elementary school in Hod Hasharon and was named after his late grandfather, who passed away in Russia in 1944. From an early age, he was interested in sports and ran. He spent a lot of time playing soccer, and Peretz was hired to work in the carpentry workshop, and as a diligent and disciplined boy, he quickly became acquainted with the owners of the carpentry shop and they gave him full trust, and he gave his parents a helping hand, He helped them in everything and bought them many gifts of his own money, and he was raised on the knees of patriotism and loyalty to the people and to the state. Peretz was drafted into the IDF in March 1976 and volunteered for the infantry paratrooper. He completed his basic training successfully and completed a parachuting course. Peretz was praised by his commanders and fulfilled his duties with dedication and responsibility On May 16, 1977, Peretz was killed while carrying out a helicopter crash in the Jordan Valley, killing 54 people. He was brought to rest in the military cemetery in Kiryat Shaul and left behind his parents, two brothers and two sisters.
