Son of-Rachel and Yehiel-Yehuda was born on 25 August 1925 in Tel Aviv, where his mother died in his early years, Shmulik attended the Bilu elementary school in Tel Aviv and later in high school “redemption”. He was a member of the choir at the Bilu Synagogue and dreamed of a musical training course, but he did not attend it, and when he was 14, he joined the Haganah. 1945. With the outbreak of the War of Independence after the United Nations General Assembly decided to divide the country into two states, he joined the ranks and served in the Givati ​​Brigade. Shmuel-Yitzhak participated in the defense of the suburbs of Tel Aviv and in December 1947 he was sent to the Negev, where he took part in guarding the water pipe and escorting convoys to the Negev and Jerusalem. He fought Atarot and besieged Hartuv. After the retreat from Hartuv came a few days later on vacation home. Then he returned to the camp. On the 13th of Iyar, 5708 (May 22, 1948), during training, he suddenly felt that the grenade he was holding in his hand had been released. In the room there were more than twenty men, his classmates. Shmulik grabbed the grenade and rushed out. The grenade exploded in his hands, Shmuel crashed – and in his death he saved the lives of his comrades. He was laid to rest in the military cemetery at Nahalat Yitzhak
