Shirgauker, Yoel

Yoel, son of Daisy and Avraham Shirgauker, was born in 1961 in India. His family immigrated to Israel in 1971. In May 1977, his older brother, Corporal Shlomo Shirgauker, a paratrooper fighter, was one of the fallen soldiers who fell in a helicopter crash in the Jordan Valley. In March 1982, after his regular service, Yoel enlisted in the Israel Police. He fell in the course of his duties on the 1st of Av (8.1.2011) and was laid to rest in the military cemetery in Haifa. He left behind his wife and three children.
