Shiner, Chaim
Son of Tzvia and Ezra, was born on August 14, 1913 in the city of Kishinev in Bessarabia, Romania. After graduating from the Hebrew Gymnasium “Magen David” in Kishinev, he managed to get out of the area annexed to the Soviet Union and arrive in Israel. In Jerusalem he worked as an accountant. During the War of Independence, he stood in the ranks of the defenders of the city. Chaim fell on his post at Yemin Moshe in Jerusalem on the 15th of Iyar 5708 (May 25, 1948). He was buried in Sheikh Bader Aleph. On the 28th of Elul 5710 (10.9.1950) he was put to rest at the military cemetery on Mount Herzl in Jerusalem.
