Shikli, Yitzhak (Itzik)


Yitzhak (Itzik), son of Ninet and Eli Shikli, was born in 1967 in Tel Aviv. Yitzhak loved the sea. He had a sensitive soul and was warm and loving to those around him. At the age of thirteen, Itzik had already volunteered for the naval commando, and he was drafted into the IDF in August 1985. He joined the naval commando unit and after basic training as a squadron commander and began his training as a naval commando. According to his commanders, he was “a very good soldier with a personal initiative and a very high spirit of volunteerism.” On 15 Iyar, May 24, 1986, Itzik fell during his service and was laid to rest in the military cemetery in Kiryat Shaul. His parents donated a Torah scroll to the Rambam Yeshiva in the Maoz Aviv neighborhood of Tel Aviv.
