Shibli, Hussein


Son of Hassan and Amna. He was born in 1945 in the village of Shibli and attended elementary school in his native village. I read a lot of books, especially history books. He spent most of his time in the youth organization and fought to open a youth club and set up a soccer team. He was a brave young man, naturally good and pleasant. He was proud of his country and his brother’s contribution to the state. Hussein was drafted into the IDF and joined the career army at the end of July 1969. He was a favorite of his comrades-in-arms and commanders, who participated in battles on the banks of the Suez Canal and on April 26, 1970, fell in an Egyptian ambush near the Suez Canal. In October 1970, a few months later, the OC Southern Command signed this citation, and his family received it in early December 1970. This is a description of the act, as recorded in the certificate : “On April 26, 1970, Sergeant Hussein Shibli participated in a tour of the northern sector of the Suez Canal, and when he encountered an enemy ambush, To throw grenades at the enemy, who was on the embankment, and returned to the vehicle several times to obtain additional grenades and continued to throw them at the enemy until he was hit and fell. In April 1973, the commendation he received for the masterpiece was transformed.
