Shibli, Ashraf


Ben Rasmia and Tala. He was born on February 26, 1976 in the village of Shibli, to a family of five. Ashraf attended elementary school in his village and at Amal High School in Givat Hamoreh. Was a disciplined boy, a loving son and devoted to his parents, and a loyal friend of his friends. In April 1995, Ashraf enlisted in the IDF’s Scouts Unit and spent most of his service as a tracker in the territorial division of the Jordan Valley. He was proud of his uniform, loved his military role, showed initiative, courage, dedication and determination and was very much loved by his commanders and friends alike. He aspired to advance in the military framework and become an officer. After the liberation, he planned to travel abroad, and then set up his own business. On June 26, 1996, an IDF force encountered an ambush of terrorists near the Jordan Valley, where Ashraf was killed and Sergeant Asher Bardugo and Corporal Yaakov Turgeman were killed. – Ayman and Ihab, and two sisters, Fadwa and Hiba, were brought to rest in the military section of the cemetery in his village of Shibli.
