Sherman, Aharon (Aharla)

Was born on July 3, 1927 in Tel Aviv, where he joined the Haganah and participated in training and activities in the area, where he studied mechanics and worked in these professions. Who served for a while in Rishon Letzion, was transferred to the Jezreel Valley and served for two years as a pickup truck driver in Afula, where he returned to serve in his unit in the “Givati” Brigade, Including the dismantling of the enemy’s transport, the bombing of Hassan Salameh headquarters, etc. At Passover 5708 he was wounded in the battle for Tel Arish, and when he recovered and returned to his battalion, the battalion was already fighting the Egyptian invader. His company was about to embark on the operation of Shabtai, the attempt to recapture Nitzanim that had fallen into the hands of the Egyptians. One of the soldiers had to stay at the base and keep, and since Aharon was still weak they said to leave him in this position. He objected and insisted on his right to participate in this important operation and was attached to the company. He successfully carried out his mission as a liaison between two classes that penetrated a certain point at Nitzanim but was hit by a shell and fell on Tuesday, June 10, 1948. He was laid to rest at the military military cemetery in Rishon Letzion.
