Sherer, Alon
Ben Ofra and Aharon. He was born in Tel Aviv on February 2, 1973. He was the second son of a three-year-old family, a younger brother to Amit, and a graduate of Avital, where he lived with his family in Bat Yam, where he began his studies at the ” Gurion. “At the age of ten, the family relocated to Rishon Letzion, and Alon moved to the Yefe Nof elementary school, continued in the Maayan junior high school, and at the Amit vocational high school, specializing in optics. And at the end of August 1991 Alon joined the IDF and was assigned to the Ordnance Corps, where he underwent various courses and received the rank of sergeant . He was highly respected by his friends and commanders alike, and his devotion and professionalism were a good thing. Alon was a natural leader, who acquired many friends and was familiar to all. On September 19, 1993, Alon was critically injured in a road accident that took place on the Ramle road and was rushed to Assaf Harofeh Hospital. He died of his wounds the following day, on the 20th of Tishrei 5754 (September 20, 1993), when he was twenty years old, and Cpl. Alon was laid to rest in the military cemetery in Rishon Letzion. Survived by his parents, brother and sister. After his fall Alon was promoted to First Sergeant. To commemorate his memory, his parents established a library in his name.
