Shemesh, Yaakov

Yaakov, son of Rachel and Rahamim Shemesh, was born on the 21st of Adar (15th March 1955) in Magdiel. Yaakov was drafted into the IDF in early July 1973. He was sent to the Golan Heights as a guard in an air force unit and served as a guard in Rafidim. On October 18, 1973, Yaakov was hit and killed when a damaged plane fell in the area of ​​the Golan Heights unit and was brought to eternal rest in the military cemetery in Kiryat Shaul. Left behind his parents, three brothers and two sisters, and was promoted to the rank of corporal.
