Shelo, Asher


Was born in 1945 and immigrated to Israel with his family, many of them in 1950. Who started elementary school in Ramat Hasharon and completed elementary school in Jaffa. Since the family moved to Jaffa, due to the difficult economic situation at home refused Asher to continue to study, he worked in various jobs and his salary gave to his mother. Who was drafted into the IDF in mid-November 1962 and assigned to the Armored Corps, where he underwent various courses, including a truck driver and a half-track driver. When he moved to a unit in the air force, he worked for a while as a cook’s assistant. Life in the army made it difficult for him. He did not get along with the discipline, and the many transitions from one unit to the other did not affect him favorably. After he was released from regular service, he was placed in the Haganah, but he demanded that they continue to call him to active reserve duty, and that he was the happiest man in the world when he and his two sons were born, and he invested all his energy to allow his family to live in a fair and Yaffa manner. “Asher was called to reserve duty at the end of December 1975. He took care of his family, and whenever he could call her, he did so, and on February 28, 1976, Asher fell in the line of duty. He is survived by a wife, with two sons, a daughter and a mother.
