Sheinerman, Aliza

Daughter of Hannah and Yisrael, was born on September 6, 1929 in Jerusalem. She spent her youth in Nahariya, where she graduated from elementary school and studied sewing. She was educated according to the example of her brother Moshe, who was a member of the Haganah from his youth, in preparation for his participation in the struggle and fighting for the establishment of the state at the appointed time. She was a gentle girl, her spirit like the spirit of her brother’s heroism and courage. In her desire to fulfill her role in defending the Galilee with all her abilities, she joined the convoy that went to Yehiam and accompanied her brother as commander. On March 27, 1948, the convoy left Nahariya on 7 March 1948 with 7 vehicles and 90 people to transport supplies, fortifications and reinforcements to Yiham. Near Kabri, the convoy encountered an Arab ambush. The first armored vehicle managed to break into Yehiam, but the rest of the vehicles were ambushed. The convoy members fought until the evening, and in the ensuing battle the two fell, Moshe and Aliza. She was laid to rest in the military cemetery in Nahariya.
