Shechtin, Ze’ev


Son of Moshe and Yona. He was born on August 16, 1936 in Tel Aviv. His image was shaped in the schools of the Workers’ Stream and a great deal of vitality from the roots of the labor movement. He completed his studies at the Be’eri High School. He belonged to the “Ha – Po’el” naval unit in Netanya. He was a naturalist in general and all his life he was involved in the study of the sciences related to the nature and problems of the land. He was also a fan of painting and music. Gentle man, a loyal and dedicated social man and willing to lend a helping hand to anyone in need. The good humor with which he was gifted also testified to his good temperament. Was conscripted into the IDF in August 1954 and served as a sabotage instructor and later as an officer in the regular army, and he received a commendation from his base commander on 19.3.1957 he fell in the line of duty and was brought to rest – His parents, educators and admirers opened a nature room in his name in the Netanya school where he was educated.
