Shechter, Eyal
Son of Rachel and David. He was born on August 28, 1964 in Gedera. He grew up in his hometown and studied at the Pines Elementary School. In addition to his studies, he was an enthusiastic member of the Maccabi Hatzair youth movement, took part in all the activities, took a course in Madatzim in Kfar Maccabiah and became a soccer player and basketball player in the Maccabi Hatzair group in Gedera. A. left with his friends Maccabi Hatzair and moved to Hanoar Haoved Vehalomed, where he devoted himself to nurturing the club and guiding the neighborhood. A great love Eyal whispered to the books and swallowed them in quantities. He also dealt with various sports – short runs, basketball and soccer. Prior to his induction, he was a member of the Meitav group, and in early March 1983 he was drafted into the IDF and after the basic training, the nucleus was placed in the Beit Ha’arava outpost. At the end of the assignment he moved to serve in the Nahal Brigade as an armored personnel carrier in Lebanon. Afterward, he moved to a parachute Nahal battalion, where he graduated with honors with a course in 81 mortars. Due to a health problem, he was transferred to Dahariya, where he served as the battalion commander, until he left for Kibbutz Mishmarim in Kibbutz Gevim. And on the eve of Yom Kippur, on the eve of Yom Kippur, he fell in the line of duty , In a training accident during a drill. Eyal was laid to rest in the military section of the cemetery in Gedera.
