Shay, Asher (“Ashi”)


Son of Moshe and Sarah. He was born on 4 May 1949 in Haifa and studied at the “Zichron Yosef” elementary school in the mansion and in the Municipal High School H. He was interested in graphology, studied the Torah from books, and deciphered the character of people according to their handwriting, and was interested in studying chemistry at the Hebrew University of Haifa, and was always interested in this science and used to conduct various experiments In his home, he was not interested in chemistry alone, and for many years he subscribed to the journals published by the Weizmann Institute of Science and followed him He also loved music, except for mandolin and vandalism, and he loved to listen to music and especially to classical music, and he also played the chess game, a gentle boy who hid the dishes. Under the serenity that always lay on his face was a sensitive soul that maintained its independence and did not reveal itself in public, and his sister said that they used to go out to the fields together and, as usual, would pick flowers and uproot bulbs and bulbs of cyclamen And the narcissus and plant them in the little garden behind the porch. He liked to see them bloom for a year and would not let anyone pick them. Who was drafted into the IDF in August 1967. He was an excellent soldier and excelled in dedication, responsibility, and volunteer spirit, and despite his difficulties in service, he did not fall asleep. His friends also told him that when he was in a bunker during a bombardment, he would sit and read a thriller, or any book he had in his possession. (September 11, 1969), was killed in a battle in the Suez Canal area in the course of his duties, and was brought to rest in the military cemetery in Haifa.
