Ben Ada and Shabtay Finkelman. He was born on October 30, 1947, in the city of Samarkand in the Soviet Union, to parents who had been refugees from Bessarabia. Yoel grew up and was educated on the values ​​of Judaism and Zionism. He completed his studies at the Pushkin High School in his hometown and at the same time was a member of a youth organization Yoel began his academic studies at Samarkand University and in 1971 graduated with a master’s degree in physics and electro-optics. In October 1972. In late December 1973 he was drafted into the IDF. After completing basic training, he underwent various courses, including an officers’ course, and served as a physicist in the Ordnance Corps and General Staff, and joined the ranks of the career army in September 1974. Yoel served as an electronics engineer in the optronics industry and during his service was head of the simulators department, Fire control systems and main test in optronics. He advanced to the rank of lieutenant colonel. In 1978 he married Miri and the two established their home in Tel Aviv, where they raised their three children – Pelli, Tali and Ari. Yoel’s character was characterized by a sense of humor, kindness, willingness to help and patience for his subordinates, qualities that earned him the sympathy of the environment. He took all his seriousness and responsibility for his work and invested all his energy in it. He was quiet, loyal, reliable, and with a clear determination. Yoel fell during his service on March 22, 1991. He was laid to rest in the military cemetery in Kiryat Shaul, followed by a wife, three children, a mother and a brother, and his brother devoted a Hebrew-English-Russian dictionary to his memory For quality and reliability audit terms.
