Shaul, Ovadia


Son of Yosef and Hazem. Born in 1948 in Baghdad, the capital of Iraq, his family immigrated to Israel in 1951. Ovadia studied at the Degania Elementary School in Tirat Hacarmel and after completing his elementary studies moved to Kibbutz Yiftach and lived there for four years, where he attended high school and contributed He was active in his work and diligent, and liked to play soccer and swimming and won a medal in swimming, and Ovadia was drafted into the IDF in August 1967 and assigned to the Armored Corps. He was devoted to his job and fulfilled all the orders of his superiors. In the course of his duties, he was injured in the shelling in the Canal area and lay wounded for six months. On the 30th of Tammuz 5707 (30.7.1970), he died of his wounds. He was laid to rest at the military cemetery in Haifa.
