Sharon, Yechiel-Aminadav (Chilik)
Yechiel-Aminadav, son of Hinda and David Sharon, was born on July 18, 1927 in Warsaw, Poland, and in 1934 he immigrated to Israel at the age of seven. In Haifa he graduated from the Alliance school and continued to study at the Technion. He then worked in the Ford garage as a mechanic. From an early age he was active in the Irgun underground and was a liaison with one of the senior commanders of this organization. He served in the Givati Brigade and was loved by his subordinates and commanders. Chilik participated in the battles in Negba and the other southern systems and headed his department until his last moments. He participated in the “Yoav” operation to break through the Negev. His company attacked and took control of Regiment 113. In this battle he fell on the 14th of Tishrei, 5709 (October 17, 1948). He was laid to rest in the Varburg military cemetery. In the spoils taken in these battles of the Egyptian enemy, there was a 6-pound cannon. The cannon was named “Yechiel”, after Yechiel-Aminadav Sharon.
