Sharon, Shlomi


Ben Chaya and Chaim. He was born on the 18th of Shvat 5731 (13.2.1971) in Haifa. He studied at the Pinsker Elementary School in Kiryat Ata and in the Rogozin Middle School in Kiryat Ata. Afterward he continued his studies at the IAF Technical School. Shlomi had a developed technical sense and liked to dismantle instruments and assemble them. He was drafted into the IDF at the beginning of September 1989. After completing his basic training, he was sent to an antiaircraft unit as a naval officer. According to his commanders, he was a good and disciplined soldier and was even nominated for an outstanding soldier. On the 18th of Nissan 5740 (18.4.1990) Shlomi fell during his service and was brought to eternal rest in the military cemetery in Haifa. He was survived by his parents, Ah – Tal and a sister – Gitit. In a letter of condolence to the family, his commander wrote: “Despite his short period of work and service in the battery, he managed to convince us of his seriousness, his positive attitude toward work and every task required of him, his willingness to help with everything he was asked for. His friend and his love for manual labor, Shlomi was accepted by all those around him and his death is a loss for all of us. “
