Sharon, Roman
Roman, son of Christina and Rudolf, was born on February 27, 1951, in Warsaw, Poland. When he was five years old he immigrated with his family to Israel. The family settled in Holon, where he attended Shenkar Elementary School. To help with a family agriculture, he began to appear as a magician apprentice at his father’s side at the age of nine. During those years he also began to sing and learned to play guitar at the Conservatory of Music in Tel Aviv. He also composed many songs and even published several albums, the first of which was published in 1966. Roman was drafted into the IDF in the middle of February 1969, and since he was a singer, he was assigned to the General Service and served as a soloist in the Artillery Corps. The IDF is different. In mid-February 1972, when Roman completed his compulsory service, the promoter Eitan Gafni adopted him and, under his wing, appeared in poetry evenings and festivals. Additional records of his works were published, and he himself had a large collection of records. During the Yom Kippur War, he joined the IDF’s entertainment troupe and appeared with her in various units on February 6, 1974. During his stay in the area of the Bluesa in Sinai, he fell in the line of duty. The cemetery in Kiryat Shaul left behind his parents and was promoted to the rank of sergeant after his death.
