Sharabi, Einan


Son of Mazal and Zion. Einan was born in Rehovot on June 23, 1969. On January 17, 1988, Einan joined the IDF. He served in infantry and was trained as a combat medic. He completed his regular service with the rank of First Sergeant. At the end of 2000, the second Palestinian intifada began, the al-Aqsa Intifada, and in the coming months the streets of Israel were washed with the blood of the victims. In March 2002, more than 100 Israelis, civilians and soldiers were murdered in terrible terror attacks, and hundreds were wounded. On the eve of the Passover Seder (April 2002), the events reached their peak in the Park Hotel bombing in Netanya, in which 30 of the celebrants were murdered In the wake of the attack, the Israeli government decided to launch Operation Defensive Shield, He was killed in Operation Defensive Shield on April 4, 2002, five days after he began reserve duty, and was buried at the military cemetery in Rehovot. He was thirty-three years old when he fell.Survived by parents. Einan was promoted to the rank of sergeant. On Einan’s tombstone, his loved ones wrote the verse: “My son is dear to me, Ephraim, if I am a child of pleasure, for I remember all the words of him that we remembered again” (Jeremiah 31:19). In Rehovot, near the family’s home, a public park was named for Einan.
