He invested himself entirely in work, earning a lot of money, adding furniture to the house, and making many gifts for his brothers and sisters. His love for cleanliness was something to his friends and his clothes were always neat and ironed. He was a caring son, faithful and devoted to his parents. Gabriel was drafted into the IDF in early 1972 and volunteered for the Paratroopers Brigade, but at the beginning of the Yom Kippur War he participated in battles against the Egyptians at the front.
