Shani, Irit


Daughter of Eliyahu and Clara. She was born on the 11th of Adar 5707 (March 11, 1956) in France. Where her parents were on a state mission. Until the age of 16, she joined her parents in all the countries that were sent to Europe and Africa, and studied in various schools in Israel and abroad, including at the Israeli school in Addis Ababa, where she returned to the Herzliya Gymnasium In which she completed her studies and successfully passed the matriculation exams, Irit was a healthy child, quiet and withdrawn, always kind and always willing to help others, she adopted a family that was in a poor social situation, visited her twice a week and spent many hours helping And with the care of small children, and with her parents she toured the world Irit was drafted to the IDF at the beginning of February 1974 and volunteered for the Nahal Brigade, and after completing her basic training she was joined to the Nahal Brigade and its service In the yeshiva at Neve Ativ. Irit was, as the members of the secretariat of the moshav said to the bereaved family: “One of our best girls, loyalty and traditions.” And the agriculture placed great hopes on it. On 27.3.1975, Irit fell during her service. She was laid to rest in the military cemetery in Kiryat Shaul. Survived by her parents, two brothers and a sister. In memory of her memory, her parents set up a memorial corner in the study room at the Magen school in which she studied, and the Neve Ativ Yeshiva is about to name her synagogue.
