Shamir, Alon Mordechai
Ben Rita and Carmi. He was born on January 14, 1973 in Jerusalem. He studied at the Luria Elementary School in Jerusalem and graduated from the Danish High School in Electronics. Alon was drafted into the Israel Defense Forces in early March 1991. After completing his basic training, Alon was trained as a paramedic and was a senior combat soldier. On the 5th of Cheshvan 5753 (5.11.1992) Alon fell in the line of duty and was put to rest at the military cemetery on Mount Herzl in Jerusalem. Survived by his parents and brother Rafi. In a letter of condolences to the family, his commander wrote: “For more than a year as a combat medic, Alon has contributed personally and professionally to training, routine policing missions and the border fence on the northern border. Alon was willing to help all at any time. He was very fond of his friends and commanders, and was one of the leading soldiers in his company. “His parents commemorated him: in the neighborhood synagogue in Jerusalem, at the corner of the Magen David Adom branch in Jerusalem and in the synagogue in the Neve Avivim neighborhood of Tel Aviv.
