Shalom, Rachel
Daughter of Joseph and Esther. Was born on May 19, 1951 in Baghdad, the capital of Iraq, and that same year the family immigrated to Israel. Rachel attended the Alumot Elementary School in Afula Illit, the Afula High School and the Humane High School in Haifa. She often painted, especially fashion paintings, designed clothes and even sewed them. She had a Yaffa soul, wrote poems and read many Yaffa books and listen to classical music. For five consecutive years, Rachel used to write a diary and write down her thoughts and thoughts and the history of her life. In mid-January 1970, she was drafted into the IDF and served at the Yehuda and Shomron Command, and on the 13th of Sivan 5731 (June 6, 1971) she fell in the line of duty and was put to rest at the military cemetery in Afula.
