Daughter of Tamar and Shimon. Was born on July 26, 1975, in Poriah, a small settlement in the Lower Galilee. The youngest daughter of a family of six children. Meirav was the only child of nine boys in the group of her peers in the community, and it was natural that all her games were about soccer and basketball with the boys. A loving, playful and lively girl who carries her local friends. Meirav studied at the Naftali elementary school in Yavne’el, continued in junior high school at the Kaduri agricultural school and completed her studies at the Amal High School in Tiberias. During her high school years she was chosen to serve as chairman of the Students ‘Committee, and was involved in many struggles aimed at promoting the school’s level.Merav was concerned about additional learning equipment that would help raise the students’ learning level. Her friend said: “I miss your rolling, infectious laugh, the tremendous and amazing love you knew to give, unconditional love and no rules, simple and true love. At the end of her studies, Meirav debated whether she would go to a seminar for sports teachers before she was recruited, but preferred to serve in the IDF with her friends and fulfill her duty to the state. In mid-August 1994, Meirav was drafted into compulsory army service, successfully completing the basic training course and being chosen for a physical training course, according to the instructors in the course, who was always a cheerful and smiling man. Meirav loved her life, loved traveling from north to south, dancing and dancing until morning, being with friends and being active and partner in the social life that surrounded her and loved her On 14.12.1994, Merav fell during her service and was buried at home The military cemetery in Tiberias was nineteen years old and left behind her brother Yoel and four sisters – Anat, Dor A Yael and Michal. In a letter of condolences to the family, the unit commander wrote: “Most of initiation was a physical training instructor course. In doing so, she succeeded in fulfilling her ambition to train combat soldiers in the IDF … Merav has acquired many companies among the trainees, and the companies have always served as a supreme value. ” Meirav was the first daughter to fall in Kfar Afula. Her family and the council of the settlement in which she grew up placed a large, heavy rock as a monument in her memory. The garden where the monument is erected is named after Meirav and expresses her love for the expanses, the landscapes, the rich vegetation and the entire country. From the words that were said on the anniversary of her death, at the memorial ceremony held in the playground named after her: “Meirav, this garden is named after you, perpetuating your image / your love for spaces, spitting and youth / You, my beloved daughter and sister, because in our hearts, in our minds, and in our stride, we will forever be besieged. “
